I've only been using this site for artists that aren't anywhere else (twitter, FA, etc), while twitter is terrible as a gallery / archive, it's good for keeping up with things. Granted it really requires you to curate your timeline to be usable.

When I was on Twitter, curating my timeline felt pointless because it would still get filled with peoples' terrible takes and retweets. Going through like 300+ accounts to find who to prune didn't feel worth it, so I nuked it. No one noticed so nothing really lost tbh.
@IVELISCHPFULI Entirely fair, I had to be real strict with the pruning to keep it close to 100, with many just having RTs turned off, otherwise it was just unmanageable.

For all it worth. I don't like this site either. Too many obsolete legacy features and the ultra toxic southpark-esque background from all the older users.
But it's precisely because the way twitter is designed to work that people both hate it and are terminally addicted to it.

I do like Newgrounds since it's gotten me to interact more and try community events. Don't like the circlejerking it tends to do, like with the front page background you mentioned. I'm more mocking everyone who was all gung-ho about "time to dump Twitter" only to just go back to it and not even bother with the alternatives.
